The optimum solution for the fertilizer problem is for the farmer to use 15 bags of low grade and no high grade per hectare. This will give him a yield of 120 tonnes per hectare. Click the Show Solution button to show this on the applet.

(Is this realistic? Perhaps not ... I don't know any crop that yields that much. Let's just say that it's a special experimental GM crop, shall we? Seriously, though, for a real world problem, one of the first questions you should ask after obtaining a solution is whether the results are reasonable. If they're not, you need to start double-checking and questioning the data given. In this case, however, since our data is artificial, we'll carry on.)
